Politely ask ad-blocking visitors to let your site through
WPSP Ad Blocker Alert detects visitors using an ad blocker and shows a customizable notification over the blurred page, asking them to turn it off — free, lightweight, and set up in a couple of minutes.

Free and open source. Works with all major ad blockers.
How it works
Two detection methods
A CSS bait element and an image request are checked together, so a blocker that slips past one technique is still caught by the other.
Blur + popup
The page is blurred behind a centered message. Set your own text, colors, blur intensity, and corner radius.
Hard to block
Element IDs are randomized on every page load and the script is delivered inline, so filter lists cannot simply target the popup.
Everything you’d expect from a real plugin
- Detects uBlock Origin, AdBlock Plus, Brave Shields, AdGuard, and other major blockers
- Permanent or temporary display mode
- Whitelist specific URL paths to skip detection on chosen pages
- Test mode to preview the popup without an ad blocker installed
- Available in English, Spanish, and French, with more languages on the way
Need more than a popup?
WPSP Ad Blocker Alert Pro adds:
- Polite Notice — a non-blocking banner instead of a hard popup
- Content Paywall — gate the rest of the article until the blocker comes down
- Email Opt-in — turn blocked visitors into subscribers, with Mailchimp sync
- Analytics dashboard, cookie-consent gating, and daily-refreshed detection rules
